Mistyeyedgirl: I can’t let go of him. Friend: That’s the common thing people say when they’re about to be left alone by the person they love. Why can’t you let him go? If you truly love him, you should let him go. Mistyeyedgirl:  I truly love him. It’s just that, I’m used of him being with me that I forgotten how to live my life without him. Friend: You’re crazy. He’s leaving. Deal with it. I can’t tell my friend that I am not yet prepared to deal with the fact that he’s leaving soon. I know that no matter what I say, she won’t understand. She has couple of boyfriends before, but I also know for a fact that they’re all nothing serious. I could conclude that my friend hasn’t felt the pain that I was feeling at that moment. The problem with people is that they tell us things like they’re easy to do. They tell me to write a 3000-word essay in an hour, I could do it. They tell me to catch a fish, although it would test my patience, I would do it. But they tell me to let go of him and forget all those memories that I had with him… That’s a different kind of story. It’s not that I can’t. It’s just that I am not yet ready to do that kind of thing. One thing that people can’t understand is our reason why it’s hard for us to let go. Ask yourself the same question. Why is it hard for me to let go? Take time to find your answer. Think of all the happy memories, the annoying memories and the sad memories as well. Did you find your answer? While I was writing this, I was asking myself the same question. What makes it so hard for me to let go? After several minutes of reminiscing, I reached a certain conclusion; an answer to my own question. The only reason why people won’t let go of what’s making us sad is because it was the only thing that made us happy.  -mistyeyegirl
